WELCOME VISITOR!

Hello, dear visitor.

Hello, good day, salutations, and welcome.

This website shows the finished projects, the process, and versions of the finished projects and lesser known works of mine. Do explore and see what you'll find.

HEAD SPACE SLEEP FUNCTION AD

HEAD SPACE SLEEP FUNCTION AD.

This project explores the head space app, as it shows off one of it’s functions. This ad displays the method of which I interpret the head space advertisement. I targeted the young parents (more specifically mothers), with rowdy children and noisy neighbor’s and sleepless nights. This ad also functions as a solution for parents to use on their children, so that some level of comfort can be achieved using the app, headspace, and the sleep function button.

HEAD SPACE WORKINGS…

The mood board of which I wanted to reflect for this project was the idea of night time, so I would pull images from the internet and look beyond than just the surface level feelings and perhaps vibes of images relating to night.

So using history as a way to be influenced, such as using (for example,) the painting of starry night, by Vincent Van Gough. One of the most famous paintings that depicts the starry night sky that Vincent saw.

STORYBOARD

Each one of the Social media bits are meant for what it would look like when it is in a video Carousel.

MOODBOARD

I based off most of the illustrations based off the Headspace artwork, which is mostly simplistic in it’s design, much easier to animate or perhaps move too. The story itself is based of what a parent or parents would go through if a child was to be awoken by noises or terrible dreams.

STORYBOARD V3

STYLE FRAME

The phone version of this project was meant to fit the narrow portrait of apps that does this format, such as you tube shorts, Instagram reels, and tik tok FYP formats. Although restrictive in terms of framing and camera movement.

So how did I do this, in this format? Well, it was very easy. Just crop the video from landscape to portrait. Much easier to do it this way, so it would be a lot easier to change the format. Rather than changing the entire video.

PHONE VERSION

There were only a few changes to the storyboard and the original script. Such as for the fact that some panels of the Storyboard would not make it to the final cut/version. But to also uphold to the ways, that Headspace, the company and it’s animation department, that headspace doesn’t do transitions.

So to work around with that constraint, another constraint I also had to consider would be the colour palette, or rather the lack of bold colours, headspace values calm and cool colours. Like, blue, purple and a dash of orange.

And because I can’t just use a visuals alone to tell the story, I would also ensure that sound cues and Voice overs (I had to use AI Voiceover, since my own voice can’t cut it for the final version).

WIRE FRAME

There was another change that was there, which was to change the voice from a woman’s voice to a man’s voice. There was two reasons for the change that being that the AI website I was using for this project had stopped playing ball, so I had to quickly find another website.

I had also wanted to include music for this whole project, as I had done for the back ground music… being that I wanted the viewer to be put in a situation of which they feel for this “parent” who had to sleep through many terrible things.

FOR SOCIAL MEDIA…

To reflect on the ways the head space ads are like, I try and mimic the way they address the viewers, the problems that viewers face, and the solutions. How calming, gentle and not off putting the voice actors are, and the way they blend the sense of peace and safety was something I wanted to fully mimic.

I had experimented with voices and using AI had help me get the voice that I wanted for this project. The choice of wording was another challenge considering that most of the head space ads, talk calmly but almost carefully. Not loud or upbeat, just slow and rather chill.

OTHER PROJECTS

AUDO GROUP PROJECT

For this project, for the Auckland Urban Development organization (AUDO), this was a group project. It was called team franklin, and our task was to advertise the “Te AraTukutuku” project.

And the way we address the problem of getting more people excited about this whole idea, so a idea was born to use an app. A Virtual app called Sprout, an app that allows you to plant a flower of your choice.

I have dabbled in the art of using blender, and the use of blender and it’s main uses within the app was to grow plans and so on. But because my skills were very lacking in the field of blender. Someone else had to do the 3D flowers.

The video was one of my deliverables, being the 2nd motion designer. I was tasked to make a video that promotes and advertise the app (which was being made by our UX designers).
